That cooking card is causing the system to lock up occasionally.. Hoping to get the water blocks on soon.. Won't be able to take more thermal pics, but can use my little IR Thermometer to check things out.

Aww, c'mon you've had to fix Vista before. lol. Anyway, Travis is right. Upgrade to Windows 7 if you have a Vista computer! Your techs will be happier with you.

So one of the links I followed did have my email address. It sent me some information about how to get a free credit report (again) from a different website. Now, I'm not concerned about how they got my email address (I emailed them, remember?). The funny thing is, it says the request was generated from IP: 124.217.253.122
Date: July 30, 2009 11:37 EDT. the time is right, but the IP address is not my computer (remember I don't allow scripting to run on my web browser) so the "request" was done as part of the web link I was being passed to. Funny. An rDNS lookup tells me the geolocation of that address is in Malaysia! Bastards!

I wanted to mention that this only shows whether or not a website has been in place for a long time. It does nothing to verify the data you actually read there ;) For that you might need the good old library depending on the topic.

We actually received "letters" from this company too - we own 6 domains at Nutmeg Consulting. I want someone to write a bot that scrapes WHOIS and sends emails to the contacts just to warn them about this company and put links to their current registrar so they aren't scammed.

Yeah, but from what I've been reading and listening to, it boils down to computer user behavior. Viruses like Sasser don't spread any longer because vulnerabilities were closed in the system that allows them to spread. The most common vector of attack these days is through your web browser, and many anti virus programs don't stop that attack from happening. That's why I use the NoScript add on to FireFox. So, I have security, but no anti virus. I'm OK with it. :) But I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.
